One thing though is the trip is entirely dependent on if I have the resources to do it by March.
It looks like I probably will, but nothing is for sure yet.

Further update: Just emailed my ISP prof to see if there is any chance to getting research help with any Tokyo uni's.

Haven't gotten a reply yet, but hopefully. :D

You might try prof. baba at Todai, he generally focuses on game design, but may have other contacts.

I checked out airline tickets both ways from Toronto, they are super cheap :D

if youre gonna interview creepy cosplay people, you should combine your love of martial arts with it. theres some top shooto fighter around tokyo (fights for DEEP) who likes to dress up like female anime characters. one of my friends is on the same fight card as him next month and i got to see the poster promoting it. dude has some kind of sailor moon type costume on.

Thats awesome since my main focus is on gender ambiguity and changing gender roles in Japan.
