What to do about Israel?

The recent incident in the UK with a Israeli representative suggesting taking down a UK politician for his long-standing opposition to the state sponsored terrorism that Israelis refer to as settlements raises some thorny issues. One cannot speak out against Israel without being accused of anti-Semitism or being a terrorist sympathiser. The settlement issue is recognised as illegal occupation according to the law. The Israelis and Israeli supported think tanks have said the comments made by the embassy employee do not reflect Israel's opinion, but isn't it time the world actually grew some balls and did something about Israel rather than fear being accused of anti-Semitic rhetoric?

The former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney said she was heavily pressured by the Israeli lobby inside the USA to make a pledge to Israel they require of all US Congress people. Does that make any sense? No, but it appears Israel has identified key positions in the US political system they can influence in order to maintain their position of favor in terms of foreign aid, military sales and intelligence sharing regardless of how their own policies affect stability and legality in their own region of the world.
