As far as immigration checkpoints those are the new jobs that Trump promised, those factories are not going to reopen period. Just as Trump had no plan for IS and health-care insurance, he has no plans for the economy other than tax breaks and deregulation.

FWIW from what I read they were not necessarily in the US illegally. They came in on visas (from Africa) and planned on seeking asylum in the US but realized that the US is not what they thought it was.

You must be mistaking me for someone else. I've lived in Canada my whole life. Like I wrote way back in your other thread, this whole Trump getting elected thing is historically interesting like the Berlin wall coming down. The order of things is coming apart and it'll be interesting to see how that all shakes out.

I don't care one way or the other what Trump says or does. Nothing I can do about it. He's living rent-free in a lot of peoples' heads and lefties are exhibiting some of the most extreme levels of intolerance and collective hate I've ever seen. It's a social media phenomenon replete with fake news, fake hate crimes, misguided outrage and straight up propaganda. Not even subtle levels of honesty anymore, and then when the truth does come to light in cases such as your subway video or the JCC bomb threats, cognitive dissonance brings the predictable silence.

Oh, you did thank me for the correction. A golden opportunity to elevate the discussion by looking at the phenomenon that is perpetuating alternate realities and drawing in dupes. But instead of examining those things, which are actually at issue in this thread and maybe taking the discussion in that direction, it's business as usual...on to the next dose of outrage.
