On one hand, Russia (an ally of Trump ??? ) will make USA great but since Russian is aiding Assad and both are playing off the other, will Russia attack US forces to defend Assad, or pretend to not know they (US forces) are not there, attack and blame their lack of knowledge and pretend that since US forces were not invited, the Russian strike will be "lawful".

Not unlike the Israeli strategy of destroying the USS Liberty and pretending they had no knowledge that it was as such! Interesting development, to say the least ???

It definitely doesn't sound like it will go well for the Marines sent there.

From Assad.

"Any foreign troops coming to Syria without our invitation or consultation or permission, they are invaders, whether they are American, Turkish, or any other one," Assad said.

"And we don't think this is going to help. What are they going to do? To fight ISIS? The Americans lost nearly every war. They lost in Iraq, they had to withdraw at the end. Even in Somalia, let alone Vietnam in the past and Afghanistan, your neighboring country. They didn't succeed anywhere they sent troops, they only create a mess; they are very good in creating problems and destroying, but they are very bad in finding solutions."

It's not an invasion. They'll leave as soon as they're asked. It will be interesting to hear what Putin will say about it, though. I'm trying to decide whether I'll head to Russia Today or Breitbart.com to find out.

Unfortunately yes, the discussion will get bogged down into political talking points.

For now they are saying the US is trying keep the Turks and Kurds from killing each other while fighting IS.

Yeah, to keep the Kurdish and Turks from fighting. Wait until the shooting starts. Both Muslim groups are on our side-- or not. The Kurdish want their own country. Turkey is dead set against the idea.

Anyway, again, it's a noble idea. But there is probably more need for humanitarian aid.

A side point is that Syrians who help us may need to come to the US.

Makes me wonder if this is why the Turks were using Flynn as their foreign agent

Trump team knew Michael Flynn might register as a foreign agent for Turkey work
