Actually, we are gifted. And, you're right; the question is how to maximize our potential. So, yeah, imo, the exercises given in the article you posted work. As Dmitri pointed out, diet has a lot to do with it. Ostriches and turkeys have developed differently to humans due to their evolutionary needs to survive. As the article points out, having a sedentary life style will result in shortened tendons.

Shuang Yang Pei Ho Rou Rouan Chien means 'sun frost white crane soft and gentle art'. It is the internal form of the Shaolin white crane, a rare and unusual style of Kung Fu. With 66 postures, it is a complex art taking many years to master. It originated in the southern Shaolin temple in Fukien Province, China. Master Ang Lian Huat taught the art in Singapore after migrating there in the wake of China's civil war. After his passing in 1984, his most senior student, Master Tan Soh Tin, took over his school (Nam Yang Pugilistic Association) and taught Master Iain Armstrong who can be seen in this video.
