Twin Peaks (2017)

I watched the new Twin Peaks a few days ago and can't get it out of my head. I freakin' loved it. Pure genius. Damn.

Maybe I wasn't totally excited about all of the characters and miss a bit of the charm from the old series. But the cinematography, the tempo, the atmosphere, the music (Lynch is sound director as well), everything was completely brilliant.

I have no doubt that David Lynch is the most talented and competent film & TV director in the US today. 8-)

Lynch to me was the trend setter for what went on in TV in the 90's and early 00's where TV went from largely interchangeable episodes within a TV series to the definitive form of story telling in Western society. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and many other TV series since, owe their ability to tell an evolving story over a series of years directly to the work of Lynch on the original Twin Peaks series.

I'm glad to hear the old man still has it.
