The barbarians are at the gates again, in one of my favorite cities, on Ramblas in the heart of the city. I guess it must be an easier target, Spain has not been conspicuous in the ongoing middle east wars

I have extended family there. It's hard to say why ISIL would strike there except that Spain hasn't been an Islamic terrorist target. All our sympathies go out to the families.

I have warm feelings from my time in Spain, I feel for the families affected. I hope they find the perpetrators and deal with them. It may go against many civilised peoples' principles but I feel there is a strong case for reintroducing the death penalty in this type of terrorist incident
