Just speaking to the futility of psychology by osmosis.

You give the average 23 year old the opportunity to draw a sky wiener, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

Being one of the essential contributors to propagation of our species, that's got to leave a mark or two, here and there.

Technically, they are not really required at all - birds are one example of a group of animals that for the most part devolved them away, yet are still quite successful. One side effect of this change is that females become hierarchically stronger (i.e. males have to work harder to attract females).
