To sci fi enthusiasts Ursula wrote of the magic world long before harry potter. Her knowledge of the human condition, her elegant prose helped raise sci fi from its paperback roots to legitimate literary genre.

One of the greats in her field. Remember reading the Earthsea trilogy as a kid, really gave the lie to the idea that children / teenage fiction has to be shallow or simple. RIP!

Too bad the TV/Film version was terrible.

This type of narration doesn`t translate on big screen too good, like Lem <Solaris> for ex.,
or needs better script and director ?
