With all that's known about human anatomy, you wouldn't expect doctors to discover a new body part in this day and age. But now, researchers say they've done just that: They've found a network of fluid-filled spaces in tissue that hadn't been seen before.

These fluid-filled spaces were discovered in connective tissues all over the body, including below the skin's surface; lining the digestive tract, lungs and urinary systems; and surrounding muscles, according to a new study detailing the findings, published today (March 27) in the journal Scientific Reports.

maybe this is somewhat related to "weird" things we know from IMA. Expand, contract, qi, jin, etc., etc.

Could fajing = hydraulic shock?

I'm not sure what hydraulic shock is, but it sounds like it could be.

:) maybe it is related to meridian network after all

That report say human body is about 60% water, I always thought it was at the 70% mark but also thought that sounded too wet......

the fluid that isn’t contained within cells. What doctors had defined as “dense connective tissue” wasn’t dense connective tissue at all. In fact, they were all fluid-filled structures that only appeared to be densely compacted when tissues were made into slides, the fluid draining away, the collagen lattice collapsing onto itself.

connective tissues all over the body

Uhhhhh Ohhhhh ... here come the Connective Tissue Haters... ;D :P

No but seriously, very interesting. :)

I feel it is too early to call it an organ. An organ has distinct tasks to perform this seems to act as a shock absorber. Maybe later if the imbedded nerves connect into the main nervous system we may find a connection to acupuncture but at the moment more research is needed. As far as the hydraulic explanation fo fajing I thought that had been disproved long ago, by the simple fact that water is incompressible and can transmit a shock wave produced by muscular contraction but doesn't move around the body or create the shock.

Exactly the fact that water doesn't compress very well is what makes it bad shock absorber. Collagen is very hard too. So under stress the water will explode the connective tissues around it. Pretty much like the other soft organs.
Skin doesn't handle shock well. But if the force is not coming very fast it may spread it more efficiently.
May be it dissipates forces before they reach organs/bones. It may add something to the Iron Shirt skill.

Must have worked your 'ground path' off to get it together that quick.

I personally found this as a verification of the San Jiao / Triple Burner more than anything else.
