Hmm, I just realized that I don't even know if he posts here anymore, but he is still part of the family. :)

Great to hear he has gone so far in his martial arts journey.

I remember when his own instructor went from white to blue.

Good for him.

Congrats. Quite the accomplishment.

Doesn't this take something like 10 years on average?

Thanks, guys.

I lurk in the shadows mostly.

Best part of it all was that my teenage daughter (who is training again) got to witness me getting the belt.

Pete encouraged me to start BJJ - so everything is his fault ;)

Well done old man ;)

BJJ good.

I slowed down because my body takes a lot of abuse already due to my job (not to mention the hours) and having to miss a promotion due to broken elbow is not an option.

But BJJ good. Nothing has taught me that you can accomplish (almost) anything through hard work the way BJJ did and I am all the happier for it.

If it wasn't for BJJ I would not have the job I have which I enjoy and actually pays more than a career I was considering which looking back at now I probably would not have enjoyed due to the actions of a few.

Thanks BJJ.

Last night the gauntlet. This morning the bruises are turning a lovely shade.

I'm more worried about what you've done to your leg Pete....
