I thought nodachis were longer than that...

(Sakaki Kojiro didn't leave a line - it's all Musashi's fault! :D )

nice!

My JMA teacher learnt nodachi, one of the training methods was to tie the sageo around their neck onto their wrist to shorten their ability to draw ... they would still have to draw and cut.

In hindsight it was like shenfa training cause they had to open and close the body to make the draw! cool stuff!

:D

Cheers

No, like all drawing skill, Chinese or Japanese, you use the scabbard as well as the sword, but I get what your saying, it does take some practice - lol

Well, here is another. This is absolutely my favorite Jian, not because of the fittings, its because of its agility and weight - its just made right, perfect actually.
Literally guys, I have owned at least 50 jian and most of those have been great antiques, and this is in the top five that I have ever had, but it needs to go, I have things and people to see.

$1200 OBO - stand is included and if shipping is not to much I will include that as well.

Nodachi is still available...

Im selling my LARGE Taoist altar and everything that goes with it as well. I originally created it to open a temple, but I could not get any reliable sponsors so that has been put to the way side for now and I do not have room for this baby. Its beautiful and needs a good home, so if you or anyone you may know that wants a complete altar just let me know via pm or email. [email protected]

I know this is not a selling place so I am very appreciative of letting me post on here.

Hey Craig - I will check into it, maybe this time I will take it apart to make it that much shorter....

Edit: Just checked into it; your country does not take anything longer than 46 inches, which this thing is much larger, so the entire package cant exceed 108 inches which I would have to find a box that is wide and long enough to ship it and I still dont know if it will work. If I did get the sword to fit into the correct box to match your countries or US post office (not sure who made up these dumb ass rules) requirements the shipping will be at the very minimum 125.00 for a ten pound package....
