hey guys

so I've been to bangkok quite a bit but was wondering whether I've missed something.

what are some good places to visit / things to do?

I'm not really interested in temples (seen em) or nightclubs (btdt).

any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've heard incredibly cheap full body thai massages every day is kind of cool.

And I'm imagining there's prolly some pretty good Pad Ga Prow available.

yeah i haven't been there but wat pho is meant to be pretty cool for the old carvings and sculptures of traditional thai massage. also the massage they do there is meant to be pretty good, if you get one of the good people.

bangkok is all about food, IMO, and it's everywhere.

I had a few massages in Thailand and really wasn't too impressed, I'm sure that there are people out there doing really incredible Thai massage, but from my few experiences I much prefer the average session of Chinese tui na.
I-mon can do some good work.

and the way things are politically there right now it could be interesting to check out a seige of government office or an airport - how often do you get to do that?

hey guys i will be in Thailand leaving USA on Jan. 24th and my wedding is jan. 31 if your out there lets meet and your welcome to come to my wedding. I will stay a few days at Fairtex Bangkok to train or another gym. Fairtex has Lumpinee champ Aipedi and training and lodging is very cheap.

I've spent a bit of time there. If you are over the partying and stuff then I can only recommend the shopping, get some suits made etc. Some things I always like to do, or show to friends if they haven't seen them. The Jim Thompson house is one of those. I haven't gotten over MBK for 13 years, always good to grab a new wardrobe there, plus get your teeth cleaned.
When it comes to eating, fuck, you're in Bangkok, you're sweet. But if you want some specific resturant recommendations let me know what you like, I may be able to recommend something.

If you haven't bother to go up the that Vertigo bar on top of that huge building that looks like a transformer, then I'd recommend that just for the novelty factor.

Speaking of novelty factors, boy do I love that snake farm! Especially at feeding time. Don't neglect a walk through Lumpini park, or actually another nice one is the Queen Sirikit park next to Emporium, hanging out the at 5-6 when every one is doing their exercise is really chilling for some reason.

But often the coolest thing to do in Bangkok is simply to strike out, go find a market somewhere (there are heaps) and go take a walk in any direction, Bangkok is an amazing city and there is lots to see. Walking around Chinatown is usually a good laugh.

When you say nightlife do you mean the the hookers, or do you mean like local nightlife, like RCA and Silom Soi 4 and shit?

Yeah or go do some training, I know Dai fucking whatever knows a BJJ guy there, but I don't know any CMA there. Or go watch the boxing.

Oh and also on the food front on Sukhumvit Soi 11 or 13 there's a place called 'BedsupperClub' which is a bit hard to exlpain, but if you google it you'll get the gist. I went years ago and it was a bit of a laugh, if you have nothing better to do feel free to check that out.
