XingYi, XingYi everywhere... (in 300)

Postby GrahamB on Sat Dec 27, 2008 1:29 am

Got the DVD of 300 for Christmas. I see XingYi everywhere in it ;D

Watch this clip:

0.07 - Pao with spear and shield

0.13 - Pao with spear and shield

0.21 - Beng with spear

0.37 - Pi with sword

0.38 - Heng with sword

0.43 - Heng with shield

0.44 - Heng with sword

0.49 - Heng with sword

0.50 - Eagle Pi (that's particularly good ;) )

0.54 - Beng with shield

1.10 - Eagle Pi to finish (mixed with Beng).

The thing is.... what did the ancients have against Tsuann? ;D

you know it might be something to do with the shield, kinda hard to get the drill going with a big chuck of metal on the yin arm, just a though.

If you get stuck seeing things only in the terms of how you understand them then you aren't gonna get to see the whole wide world and instead are looking up through a well at the sky.

:p

p.s 300 was a movie created by gay men for gay men. that much is as plain as day. ;D

It's funny--back in the day when I was in my early college years and all starry eyed, I asked a history teacher (who had some great knowledge about classical wars) about the combat techniques that were used, wondering if there was a specific martial art or pseudo martial art being used. He was like "they just walked forward in ranks and thrusted with the spear or sword until the other side wasn't standing anymore".

there were some documentaries on history or discovery channel about the Spartans that basically said their phalanx was tight and their mentality was hard.

pederasty and gay relationships were probably encouraged in the spartan military:

I saw that movie and what I saw was:
Lots of CG
Lots of abs
Lots of pecs
Lots of bis
Lots of tris
Lots of delts
A few glutes
Some armour
Some weaponry
Some blood
Funnily enough, I don't recall seeing ANY CMA.

And no, I am not a shirt lifter. Or at least...I don't think I am...
