Help with Chinese/Youku

Postby CaliG on Thu Jan 01, 2009 12:26 pm

I've been finding all kinds of full length instructionals on youku.

For example Gracies in action, Fedor seminars, Fairtex Muay Thai, Mike Swain's judo, Darrell Gholar and many others.

If you go here to the Gracie guard and click those numbered pages on the right under the list of links you see a lot of different vidz.

My question is can someone type the Chinese characters for MMA, BGZ, BJJ, MT, XYQ, judo, SC, TJQ, Sambo, boxing, grappling etc...so I can put them into the search engine.

Also are there other websites like this that have whole instructionals?

Thanks,

G

goto www.altavista.com and click on babelfish translation service. from there, you can type in just about anything and specify the output language. it's not a perfect service, but it might help. you can just copy paste the results from there into your search engine

My question is can someone type the Chinese characters for:

MMA - MMA They just call it "emu emu ey" or "MMA". Occasionally they use "ziyouboji" 自由搏击 but that one will tend to get you K-1 type stuff in the search engines.
BGZ 八卦掌
XYZ 形意拳
TJQ 太极拳
Sambo: ?
boxing 拳击
Judo 柔道
Jujistu 柔术
BJJ 巴西柔术
Gracie 格雷西
grappling: Haven't noticed anyone using the term in China. When you think about it, it's kind of a new classification here in the states too. And you will always get the confusion with "wrestling". SC is 摔跤 but all western wrestling is, I think, 古典摔跤. Never seen a term for folkstyle but freestyle is 自由摔跤。

Have fun with that.
