getting very good at the end of S2.

incredibly slow build up (but well done if you like that style) over 18 episodes to get to this point.

I'm not quite caught up but I've been following it from the beginning.

Pretty good attempt at filming the unfilmable. I like the way they've woven the expanded universe of the robots into the storyline.

I haven’t read the book or related books so it was all confusing as hell.

Still the slow buildup and great world building and acting sucked me in enough to pay maybe 3/4 attention.

Now at the end of S2, I’m like wow this is quite good and getting better.

Think the S1 reviews were meh but it’s worth it to keep watching imo.

Well it's Asimov, pretty much the basis for most modern science fiction. I think he wrote six books, then some other authors wrote three more, then the robots books are like, I think maybe 6 of them?

I, Robot is part of this universe, many, many, MANY millenia prior and they really butchered that one as far as teh Asimov connection goes.

note to self to go back and read some of these.

iirc, the three "brothers" serving at the same time isn't in the books (second hand knowledge reading the reviews). demerzel is possibly more prominent in the tv show. really makes me curious to find out more.

Yeah she's actually one of the oldest robots, R. Daniel Olivaw. He helped guide humanity to where they are. There was no clone emperor, that's an adaptation to give some continuity to a story spanning 10,000 years.

The books are amazing stuff, speculative fiction at its finest. Really wrestling with the implications of thinking machines and space travel.
