As a Force Protection Team Lead at Bagram, I found NATO to have less 'teeth' though some of its members did contribute to
the safety, security, AID pledges, and other essential health care (Doctors WIthout Borders) that uplifted Kabul though
it was not enough as we have seen. I say Kabul because it was a seat that held government prominence and this is where
action took place in an attempt to reverse centuries old societal prohibitions.
Policies lasted only with external presence of USA and EU presence.
There was an incident where Doctors WIthout Borders were providing care to wounded Afghans (regardless of political affiliation
meaning possible Taliban wounded, at times, and the hospital was bombed by US forces in Kunduz.
It was interesting that NATO choose US military personnel to investigate the Kunduz incident (bombing of a Doctors without Borders hospital) despite stating
they gave the coordinates to US air resources noting that the area is an AID health location.
