America - is this true?

I'm being told that you can't buy pre-packaged sandwiches in shops/supermarkets in the USA. Is this true?

The link gave a permission error, but in general, one can buy all the pre-packaged sandwiches they could ever want here in good ol' 'Merica.

You can get them in supermarkets, gas stations, vending machines, little carts, think I saw a crosseyed dude with a limp draggin a couple cases behind him in a Radio Flyer wagon with a wonky wheel the other day.

OK, I was lied to. They will be dealt with...

What about caterpillar cakes - can you buy these off the shelf without having them made up special?

I mean... that's just a brand. We've got literally hundreds of types of cakes, and they are all garbage.

Can you get cookiepuss?

WTF? Cookiepuss is the stuff of nightmares!

Is it true that there is a whole aisle dedicated to barbecue sauce? And are you guys really obsessed with applesauce (all one word)?

(These are things my wife learns from TikTok).

Just a few shelves of barbecue sauce, not a whole aisle. Keep in mind some of our aisles are as big as your counties.

As for applesauce, I mean, I'm sure someone is, but I wouldn't say it's a thing...

In Texas (Central Texas style is the best USA style BBQ IMHO --- probably 5 opinions for every 1 RSF commenter, though), they probably have aisles of barbecue sauce

If you can make a buck hawkin it to a fat kid, you can get it at one of our stores.

That's actually a legit slogan from a grocery chain.

No. We're fat self-entitled assholes, not hobbits. You'd have to check in with the Kiwis about those...
