I disagree with connecting what may be a frivolous law suit with the issues of "English only" and immigration. Most immigrants want to learn English, ime. Their children always do.

Like I said, I agree that an employer has the right to require an employee to speak English, not because it's official, just because it's the employer's right. If someone is not hired because he doesn't speak English, then let him sue. How's he going to defend himself? Otoh, if someone is using the lack of English skills as the reason to fire an employee, then it's not so clear.

Anyway, I tried to make the point that many of the non-English speaking illegal immigrants are hired by English-speaking Americans to be used as laborers for which good English ain't necessary.
