Tomorrow = Punta Cana

So, off to the DR tomorrow.

It's likely that my ass will remain in a hammock on a beach and my fist will be soaked with rum.

Felipe, if you are not one mile too many away, I will make some sort of attempt to drag myself out of a drunken haze and contact you.

Otherwise, I'm a comin' to check out your homeland's beaches mang.

Have fun, dude... and bring plenty of Bullfrog. Don't want that pasty white ass looking like a Red Delicious! :D

Now you owe us a pic of you in the Captain Morgan pose for good measure...

Nice. I hope the weather is kind to you. Try to look for Brugal for rum, and Presidente for beer. Don't take nany of those lousy rums they serve at the resort, unless it's in a mixed drink.

Believe me man, we are more than a mile away. I don't think we'd be able to meet, because I'd be the closest to you tomorrow, and that's still a two and a half hour drive.

Have fun. Punta Cana is tremendously beautiful.

I stayed in Punta Cana years ago with my Girlfriend, we did a week at this incredibly beautiful All-inclusive, but what I didn't like was they had guards with M-16s at the gates and it was like you could only leave the resort with a tour. So as nice as the place was I never really felt like I got to know much about DR. I worked with lots of Dominican guys in restaurants and they were all smiles and good guys and Brugal has remained my rum of choice.
Maybe Felipe can chime in on just how dangerous, or percieved danger DR has?

Actually, the DR is not very dangerous. Of course if you are not aware of your surroundings, you can get robbed. But when it comes to that, the nature of the dominican is to get himself involved. If you get robbed and someone sees it, be sure that the guy that stole from you is going to be chased around and beaten.

The weapons...the DR has a weapon culture. Everyone with a military uniform has a big weapon. You see the guards of every building with M-16s or a shotgun. And everyone usually carries a bat or a machete in their cars. I know some tourists find it shocking, but to us is just natural. Teo (Darthwing Duck) asked me about it when we were showing him the city.

Everyone here will be smiling at you and wanting to help you, if you are a tourist. But it's better to have a dominican with you when you are around, because the stores will want to charge you a lot for simple stuff. And I think that's the worst danger you can find here.

And old men with knives in hospitals. They're dangerous!
