~ Black widows...
~ Years ago I whilst stationed in Wyoming I was with some friends hiking. I sat down on the grass and leaned back on my hands to rest for a few minutes. Looked at the sky, the eagle, the bluffs... Looked at my right hand and was about 1/4 an inch from a large black widow, hourglass and all... I developed some real shenfa that day I think, and the heebeegeebee dance too over the next few weeks.
~ Later I met a couple of people who had been bit by the spider and they said it was not that bad. Apparently if one is over 200 or so it is like bee or scorpion sting. One guy was telling me they get into the sheets when they are dried out on the closeline. So after a couple of close calls they now put their sheets in the drier instead so their little ones dont get bit in their sleep.
~ One of my friends got bit by both a black widow and brown recluse. The blackwidow did not bother him. The brown recluse put him into the hospital for about a week and he lost about 15% of his calf muscle...
~ In Sao Paulo Brasil there is a spider and snake petting zoo. There are some LARGE spiders in the Amazon. Apparently the daddy-long-leg spider has one of the the most toxic poisons, even more so than the brown recluse, but their fangs are too short to pierce human skin...
~ It is definitlely a good idea to wear leather gloves when working outside in areas that spiders like to rest (wood piles, brush piles, tool sheds etc...)
~ Continue to discuss amongst yourselves...

The Black Widow
Courtesy of Alice Cooper...
These words he speaks are true,
We're all humanary stew,
If we don't pledge allegiance to
The black Widow
The horror that he brings,
The horror of his sting,
The unholiest of kings,
The black Widow.
Our minds will be his toy,
And every girl and boy
Will learn to be employed by
The Black Widow.
Love me,
Yes, we love me,
Love him,
Yes we love him,
Love me,
Yes we love him.
He sits upon this throne and picks
At all the bones of his husbands
And his wives he's devoured.
He stares with a gleam,
With a laugh so obscene at the virgins
And the children he's deflowered.
The horror that he brings,
The horror of his sting,
The unholiest of kings,
The black Widow.
Our thoughts are hot and crazed,
Our brains are webbed in haze,
Of mindless, senseless, daze
The black Widow.
