Time Travel Problem

Whether or not time travel is possible is not the theme of this thread.
Time travel will get you killed. How?
The first point I want to make is that this planet is not at rest, in other words the Earth is constantly moving through the Universe. It spins around itself, it rotates around the sun, the solar system is moving through space.
so, if I go back in time a thousand years, I start where the Earth is now and so I will arrive in the same spot, but the Earth will not be there. It will be wherever it was a thousand years ago. I will end up floating in outerspace, or stuck inside whatever occupies the space where I am now. I will not end up on Earth.

What say my fellow scientists here at Rum fist?

That is only if you forget to properly calibrate the Flux Capacitor to account for the spacial drift during formation of the wormhole. Or something like that.
It's complicated, you know.

spacetime is all relative. if you could arbitrarily shift yourself in time, you can also arbitrarily shift yourself in space.

Time Travel Using A Wormhole

The concept of Time Travel, whether traveling to the Past or to the Future, gives new meaning to the idea of really falling behind (past) or really getting ahead of yourself (future), IMO. Seems to me that it might be very difficult to adjust to either scenario in a timely manner. ;)

Plotting where mass exists in time and space relative to where it is now would be part of the equation.

Also consider that space moves as well as it is warped by mass that moves through it by proxy of gravity created by the mass.

Having said that, Einstein came around to it's possibility as has Hawking. If these two great minds can give it credence then so can I!

I think you're on to something by pointing out the spinning of the earth and the solar system. Time travel is theoretically possible using a device called a Tipler Cylinder, which rotates on its axis; supposedly a Tipler sinusoid is what John Titor used in his time travel device. When you warp time you are also warping space, the two go hand in hand.

the problem is that you always end up NOW. you can't go back to yesterday, because when you get there it's NOW. same with going forward to tomorrow.
time is subjective as fuck.
