Why it's the Male politician who cheats

Postby Bill on Fri Jun 26, 2009 10:59 am

Male politicians have a lot of what makes men superficially attractive to the opposite sex - power and status.

Female politicians generally do NOT have what makes women superficially attractive to the opposite sex - youth and beauty.

It's that simple.

Well, there aren't that many female politicians in proportion to males. It's true that few of those few are young and beautiful. But, I don't think male politicians who have affairs are necessarily young or attractive. Of course, imo, women are attracted to the power, prestige and the personality that got the man elected. Men, otoh, are not more attracted to women with power; they're often intimidated by them; and, unless the woman makes the first move, it's unlikely that they'll get hit on, even if she's a fox. Anyway, in this society and others, young, foxy women don't go into politics and are not usually taken seriously. Those who do make it into office probably go out of their way to be above reproach.

If they were there, maybe they'd have more affairs.

Not to mention that politicians are under a great deal of stress with constituents and other politicians gunning for them all the time. When you're that stressed out, well you need some relief.
I've always thought that the wife of a politician would have to be extra attentive to her husband, otherwise...

I would find it hard to believe that any man has never had the urge to cheat (not neccesarily cheated) its biological, your balls are constantly send messages to your brain to mate with females...Some politicians are surrounded by people who hold them up as a heros, young attractive women who want to help with the campaign, constantly traveling and away from your wife, I imagine its very common.

Well, the men have to be cheating with women, and not the same one ... probably. So, the genetic impulse isn't restricted to males. It's questionable whether people are condemning the infidelity or the hypocrisy. If it's just a man thing, then why get married at all? Only fathers with teenage daughters and prudes complain about rock star groupies. Politicians often rule on issues of morality, and it's when they --who are married, to boot-- follow the genetic impulses in private that they condemn in public, then some peoples' panties get twisted.

Otoh, it'd be close to impossible for an unmarried guy who had lots of groupies --that he admitted dating-- to get elected. That's why guys like this get in the news. Same with the last Luv Guvs, not to mention clerics, police chiefs and so on down the line. It's as old as time.
