Billy Mays found dead at 50

TAMPA, Fla. - Billy Mays, the burly, bearded television pitchman known for his boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean, has died. He was 50.

Tampa police said Mays was found unresponsive by his wife Sunday morning. A fire rescue crew pronounced him dead at 7:45 a.m.

There were no signs of a break-in, and investigators do not suspect foul play, said Lt. Brian Dugan of the Tampa Police Department, who wouldn't answer any more questions about how Mays' body was found because of the ongoing investigation. The coroner's office expects to have an autopsy done by Monday afternoon.

I was just using Oxyclean this morning and thinking about this guy.
He was only 50, too. RIP.

I was surprised to hear this news today. I would've expected the ShamWow guy, but not Billy Mays.
The guy was a heck of a pitch man, something about his voice. My 6 and 8 year old would literally stop whatever they were doing and watch him when they heard his voice come on the TV.

Apparently Billy was in an aircraft that blew a front tire and did a hard landing a few days before his death. He was hit in the head by some falling luggage, so they were wondering it that was what killed him (kinda like that actress that bumped her head snow skiing and then died a few hours later). But now they're saying that it looks like he had heart disease. Too bad. He was a likeable guy.
