half joking but half serious. the kids in one of my kids' end of year picnic were doing a hula hoop contest to see who could hula hoop the longest. 100% of the boys tried to "muscle" it which failed, while most of the girls could do it easily.
however the girl who was best truly looked like she could've done it all day. she could do it walking around and talking and barely moving compared to everyone else. i thought later that is really some impressive gongfu she has with the hoop. she found the smallest amount of motion needed to just catch the minimum momentum of the hoop and "return energy" to it to keep it going. a bit similar to the negative/positive yin/yang mentioned on other threads.
