but seriously- i have heard or read the yi quan people say that issuing power should be like a dog shaking water

currious to hear more about this...

i learned a pole shaking exercise in taiji that develops the kind of power that the dog is showing in the video
but that is only one type
in taiji (the way i learned) the issuing is like an explosion- everything expanding as the weight is dropped...
this type seems to be what i see in a lot of the yi quan fali demo clips online

my understanding si the shaking power is to effect the opponents body and then use issuing...

curious to other people's thoughts...

It's just coordinated movement... Any good break-dancer has a lot more body control than is shown in this clip, IMO.

The IMA-related component (power-related) is the "stopping" of the spiral/rotation to "bounce" in the opposite direction, but it's just ONE component of fajin.
