I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.

Hiku-Ptah = House of Ptah
Kuta in Egyptian could mean "Spirit Valiant". It could mean "lid" in Nubian.

Harry Houdini recorded an Egyptian bare-knuckle boxing custom in a story he co-wrote with H.P. Lovecraft. But ancient Egyptian boxing is only known from two or three murals. I don't know if Hikuta is an un-broken tradition dating from ancient Egypt. But Jack Sellner is a much more decent person than most of the self-appointed know-it-alls who follow him around the internet preaching the gospel according to Elmore/Rearic.

Actually, it's Het Ka Ptah. Hikuptah was the name given by Manetho. That's where the name "Egypt" comes from. And if this was a real ancient egyptian art, at least they could have known the difference.

Notice that the 'Hi' in Hikuta was probably added by the guy. Just another guy inventing a new style with an exotic past to attract the masses.

..I'll stick with the Alien Martial Art dude.

This technique is not altogether bad. Slapping your own chest encourages an axial rotation of hips, and stomping with the foot causes a bit of weight transfer to take place. I would say there are more efficient ways of achieving both these things, but weight transfer and trunk rotation are at least in use, and the methods here are easy to remember.

However, the force generated is not going in exactly the same direction as the chin jab. Oh, well!

Thanks. I hadn't heard of "Het Ka Ptah". I knew that Hikuptah was the root word of Egypt. Guess I should have mentioned that.

I didn't really look close at the guys webpage. From what I've seen elsewhere it's a very small body of knowledge. The history that they claim was probably related to them By DOK Lee. It's likely that the art was developed in modern times by studying the murals. I used to have DOK Lee's book and alot of the positions in it appeared in Egyptian art though not in a martial context. I never wanted to just dismiss it because phil elmore or don rearic ruled it phony. Tahtib is an ancient Egyptian martial art that has survived to the present day. In addition other customs such as the parade of Solar Boats have survived.

That claim has been made in a popular magazine in relation to the supposed "djedi" (Djed refers to the pillars that look like high voltage insulators) of Egypt. The author must have based it on the similarity of the words because there was a noticeable lack of evidence. He didn't even ask George Lucas.
