AWKWARD

Postby Juan on Thu Jul 23, 2009 4:11 pm

Yesterday I stopped by the local MA shop in our neighbor hood with my son and ran into his old Wing Chun teacher. We walked in and I saw him right away and I went up and greeted him with a big "hello sifu" and put my hand out for him to shake. Well, he gave me an icy stare and quickly shook my hand as he looked away without saying a word. His girlfriend who is also a teacher was much more friendlier and greeted my son and I.

I was a bit taken back by his actions. I mean, really, you're that upset at us that my son stopped going to your class? Wow! Isn't the turn over for children's classes close to like 90%? The whole situation was awkward when it needed not be. Kind of a weird experience.

Don't worry about it, Juan. It's his problem. MA people can be just plain crazy some of the time.

dude, just chalk it up to bad business sense. If he had a brain he would have been nice and tried to get him to come back.

How you doing bro? Still working out at the gym over there?

Ah Juan. Had you only read the Kung Fu Master Player's Manual, you would have known that the correct response to such a reaction is "Well, fuck you then..." ;D

Thanks guys, yeah the situation was plain weird...and definitely bad business sense. Even if were to think about doing Wing Chun again we are definitely NOT going to his school.

Brett, things are good man. Still at the MT gym training hard as ever. How are things with you?

If you weren't his student and your kid wasn't eaither, then you shoulda properly greeted him with a "hey motherfucker, what's happenin!"

This would have broken the ice a lot better.

"hey motherfucker, what's happenin!"

Good one!
That is an awkward situation. Maybe he just doesn't have a good balance of cooling in his training? Too much hot head will make you an asshole all the time.

Maybe he just didn't recognize you with your awesome 6-pack abs. Or maybe he just watched a Chuck Norris movie and was still in a daze...
