Dracula, with Frank Langella...when Lucy appears, it took me by surprise. One of the few horror movie scenes that have made me turn my face away.

When I was a kid, I ran and hid my face from the Andy Griffith Halloween Special. Sadly, I'm not joking.

There is one scene in this movie where a woman is in a closet and looks up to see a witch woman standing over her that really got to me.

Big ups to "manitou". I loved that movie. Super creepy. I like it when horror movies were scary rather than just gory.

I think I may have told this story here before but maybe not.

My mom was going out on one of her first dates right after my dad died when I was 5, and the exorcist was still in the theatre.

So, she goes to see the movie and it scares her. She comes in to check on me. Now here's the funny part. When I was a little boy amongst other things, I had two annoying habits: I walked in my sleep, and had chronic nose bleeds. So she opens the door and I'm sitting up in my bed with my eyes half open talking to myself in my sleep, and I had had a ripper of a bloody nose while I was asleep and had managed to wipe blood over my face and torso.

My mom still gets a little glazed look in her eyes when the story is told. Apparently it scared her more than a little bit.

Wow, that's quite a coincidence, eh? :o :)

A friend of mine (a big/strong guy, former heavy football player etc., runs his own successful company and by looking at him you wouldn't ever think ANYTHING would scare this guy) was brought to the theater to see The Exorcist when he was 9 or 10 (dunno what the hell his parents were thinking...) and he still CANNOT watch that movie (at least that particular scene) when it comes on TV, has to switch channel or walk out of the room.
