Dmitri, I think you've hit on the real problem with your comment.
In fact, up here in Canada, it is exactly that personality profile that is the bane of the system.
you basically have a huge amount of people who think that a slight cough, a boil or a bunyan that causes them even the slightest discomfort is reason to make way to the emergency room.
Truly, it's fucking ridiculous.
Other problems are that doctors have no regulatory body except for themselves.
This is plane wrong and doctors are overworked all the time and often because of this are negligent in their duty of care.
This results in literally thousands of unneeded deaths every year in Canada and the number is 10x that in the USA.
In fact, during the 2 x where there were significant strikes in the systems and doctors were not readily available, the mortality rate dropped by some 70%!!!
It's ridiculous really.
what do you call a guy who graduated in the bottom 25 percentile? You call him doctor anyway.
