I conducted workshops based on his material, it's top-notch. Inspiring, insightful, motivational. He's very good at changing peoples perspective in order to empower them.
There's a tendency among certain types of people to automatically dismiss anything approaching "Self Help" because they see the need for help as a sign of weakness. "Other people need that kind of stuff, not perfect me"
There's also the trend of "self-help junkies" that just consume as much of this stuff as they can without ever really getting anything out of it. That does nothing to improve the image of the genre.
I know I'm imperfect, flawed, set adrift in a sea of madness, and welcome any help I can get. I see quality "self-help" as nothing more than applied psychology. I was hooked on Tony back in high school when I got his first set of tapes from the library and started applying his lessons on the reticular activating system .
If you want to fight better, learn about fighting
If you want to get laid more, learn about dating and seduction
If you want to achieve more, learn about yourself and how to surpass your self-imposed limitations.
And THAT is what I like about Tony.
"The truth will set you free, but at first it will piss you off."
He's done now, and I'm all fired up, lol. 300 hits in less than 12 hours, I think it's starting to work!
EDIT: And when the kind of people that CAN pay his multi-million dollar fees for personal coaching DO choose to do so, and then come back for more, that should speak libraries full of volumes.
