They have "security officers" in public schools that jump students all the time for nothing. Last video I saw was a school lunch room where an "officer" (rent-a-thug) screamed at a student to pick up some trash on the floor and when she refused, he jumped her and broke her wrist.

Reminds me of this story:

I'd like to think cops like these are "isolated cases" but with the advent of the internet and youtube we are seeing more of this all of the time.

They are still isolated cases. You don't see the harmless ones on youtube.

Really? How's that? Or are you just being contrary? Because it's no new story that the police have change their attitude and even appearance from being a "peace officer" to being militarized. You can also clearly see it just from their relatively new policy to quickly use the taser.

Officially sanctioned violence against students by administrators, teachers, security etc. had definitely been on the decrease since I was in school. The principal for 'guidance' at my junior high had no wall space left in his office for all the paddles of every size and shape that he had hanging up. Same for the phys-ed teachers and shop teacher - though he preferred throwing hammers at his students . Paddling was an every day occurence with many students getting wounded and several having to be hospitalized. Society then was nowhere as litigious as today and corporal punishment was 'approved'. If there was youtube back then and we all had cameraphones youtube would have been hard pressed to be able to host all the clips.

Special needs is used very loosley, this kid looks like some dislexic punk, the cop is a total psycho, but it is misleading to make it sound like he beat up some helpless retard.

One incident of a power tripping person in a position of authority.

The kid got hurt, the guy who was the officer at the time is no longer an officer or in a position of authority.

case closed, good enough for me!
