...does not suck at all. so awesome.

don't listen to the critics - fools, all of them. and the trailer doesn't do it justice. it's actually a lot darker, which I think is as Dickens intended.

well there was an old version of this, what i realy realy liked when iwas a child. that was actually very dark and msotly maked for adults i think. Propably gonna watch this one also.

Watch it in 3-D. I don't think the 2-D version would do it justice. Not a fan of Dickens, but I did love this version.

How could you not be a fan of Dickens?

I think it's more along the lines of you've never really read any Dickens have you!! have you!! admit it!! lol

(grew up with a volume set of all the works of Dickens)

Dickens is depressing. Second only to Poe, who at least had something to be depressing about. Dickens wrote "Carol" in, like, a couple of days because he needed fast money and the holidays were coming up. He played intentionally on the maudlin sentimentality of his intended market. We read far more into "Carol" than it deserves. Simple morality play.

So, bah, humbug! Dickens the Sellout!

That said, I know I'll enjoy the CGI Carrey version.
