That's a strong argument. I have no choice but to concede that you are correct.

As a Philadelphia native, I have to disagree. In the early 80's Philadelphia was champion in professional football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. Back then it was actually known as "city of champions". What other city has been described as such since?

"If the Pats hadn't dropped the ball at the Superbowl..."

You mean one loss after a PERFECT season? Only we get to bitch about that.

But how long did Phlliy stay champion in anything?

"Awwww, love that dirty water..."

I won't correct your spelling, just your mistake. Sox sold out for years and years before the tide turned.

not the celts though. they actually had to lower ticket prices to get people to go to home games not too long ago and even with that they didn't come close to selling out. i lived outside boston for 3+ years a couple years ago and was in town 3 or 4 times a week. i rarely saw a anyone wear a jersey and if you asked anyone what they thought of the celts they'd shrug like "who cares about the celts..."

i'm not saying boston isn't a great sports town or great town period just that there are a substantially more celt fans in boston now then a couple years ago.
