The Air Force became aware of the security vulnerability when copies of Predator video feeds were discovered on a laptop belonging to a Shiite militant late last year, and again in July on other militants' laptops, the Journal reported. The problem, though, is that the drones use proprietary technology created in the early 1990s, and adding encryption would be an expensive task.

::)

Edit: Should have bought an Apple ;D

..and far worse.. t is known that pentration testing of the US command and control systems in Iraq showed major flaws.. it is presumed that a lot of underbelly support to conduct information warfare (software, knowledge etc) is coming from Russia, China, Pakistan etc.

and on the ground insurgents are actively exploring emp technology and if these ever get developed the battfield advantage from electronics is completely eliminated....

fukkin scary stuff..
[Seeking and not seeking are the problem...]
