I used to enjoy the saber fencing class I took for like a year when I was 12. They had foil and saber, but I way preffered saber.

I'd love to take a western fencing style from someone who had teh real transmission.

Tremendous - much more interesting than sport fencing. What is with all the twirling of ribbons, flames, etc, anyone?

Not impressed. I would say the majority of the folks featured were beginners (footwork/ stance lacks precision, eyes/ head following the blade around etc.)

Learning modern fencing from a real expert is a privilege. In my case Laszlo Jakab... to whom I owe a huge amount (for what he coached me, and for him teaching me to be a coach)
