Enjoyed his hard boiled PI novels and the TV series, a worthy successor to Raymond Chandler, who was his inspiration

Damn. I have read his books since I was in high school and always come back to them. For pulp, they were surprisingly well written with truly elegant prose tucked in amidst the bullets and beer. I'm gonna miss him.

NO! Wow.

I didn't hear this one. I'm really bummed. As a Bay Stater and former resident of the Hub, Parker's novels hearkened back to those hard bitten page turners like Hammet and Wolfe. LOVED this guys shit. Go softly into that good night, Mr. Parker. And may you rest in peace. :-[
