For those that aren't aware he had a very serious health issue that really took him out of it. He was in Canada when it presented itself.

I saw another interview where he said that they couldn't find what was wrong with him. He never mentioned what city he was in. All I know is if I was at a hospital and they couldn't find what was wrong with me, I would be pissed too regardless of where the hospital was.

why? Doctors don't know everything. Especially not weird bacterial infections from something you ate or what not. If there isn't a record of it and no tests to confirm, you'd be surprised how often you need a specialist and how few there are.

One should take his comments like a grain of salt, as though his pronouncement is the definitive say on the Canadian health system or any system for that matter.

I think most peoples' neighborhood hospitals wouldn't compare with the Mayo Clinic. Besides, as someone already said, missed-diagnoses and misdiagnoses happen all the time in the US.
