Best show, Pink Floyd, Animals Tour at Soldier Field.

Best Warm up act, Little Stevie Wonder was the warm up for the Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers tour - '71.

Gentle Giant Warmed up for Procal Harum also back in the 70's.

Another surprise from a warm up, Elton John was the warm up for Eric Clapton on Elton's first tour.

I remember Frank Zappa played and gymnasium in Naperville, Il. The crowd was rowdy and the acoustics sucked, so Zappa played the entire show around double speed and left in about 20 minutes. didn't miss one note though.

I've been to over 20 Greatful Dead concerts, but I have to say the best was in Iowa around "75. I only caught 8 hours worth. We were late to arrive and we left early. Not bad for 35 bucks/ :P

Concerts aren't what they used to be. :-[

I caught a Master's class Winton Marsallis did at UNM in '95 or so. It wasn't a concert, but it was fascinating to watch & hear him talk about technique. He did play some with the students so it wasn't just a lecture, and they improved greatly over the class period.

Gene Loves Jezebel, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Echo and the Bunnymen at the Greek amphitheatre in Berkly I think in 1986 or 87.
Awesome time, Gean from Gene Loves Jezebel got pulled off the stage and sort of roughed up, laughed my ass off. Siouxsie was the best in all her grand insaneness and Echo came out so drunk he had to apologize that he was forgetting the words, all the while holding a bottle of vodka in his hand taking swig and after swig while bumming a cigarette off a person in the front row - but still did a great rock out 80's style.
Concert was great, good times were had for sure.

In my younger days (LOL) we would go to Anti-Flag shows before they went and got popular. On two different occasions I did a stage dive.

Saw one of the last shows done by the Misfits before everyone went their own ways. At the end of the show Dr. Chud tossed one of his drum sticks into the crowd and I caught it! Still have it. Great show. GWAR played before them and that's always interesting. One of their props was shooting fake blood into the crowd and I caught a direct hit to the face, so I was in the show for the Misfits looking the part well.

Had a good time at a Wu Tang Clan show too. Was just standing around waiting for them to come on and people were coming up to me asking me questions, thinking I was the club owner.

Chud - I think you and I would have been best friends back in high school...

Vancouver:
Judas Priest - defenders of the faith - 1984
Iron Maiden/Twisted Sister - powerslave 1984
Motley Crue 1985
Judas Priest/Bon Jovi - turbo lover 1986

Phoenix:
David Lee Roth/Yngvie Malmsteen (spelling?) 1986
Queensryche 1987 (lip synching)
Cinderella - opened up for someone, can't recall who... 1987 - most likely Bon Jovi
Iron Maiden - somewhere in time tour

Vancouver:
Judas Priest/Megadeth -1992? Hallowe'en night
AC/DC
Motley Crue Dr feelgood
Aerosmith/skid row 1991?
Peter Gabriel - wow...
Elton John - wow...
Judas Priest Nostradamus tour (recently)
ACDC (last year)

probably a handful more - I know I've seen iron maiden 3x and there were a few beach concerts at the wave pool in Mesa/Tempe in '87 and '89 I went to...

also worked in a bar from 88-92 and met metallica, acdc, aerosmith, partied with Bad Company (bunch of cokeheads) at their hotel. Got a hummer from Lita Ford that night so it's all good.

Cool thread. Here's a few that I remember.

1. The Police, Synchronicity Tour. My first concert, and probably best one in my mind.
2. Amnesty International, Atlanta show. Police did a brief few songs. U2 was good.
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers in Philadelphia - people wrecked the chairs so it had to end early, which somehow seemed appropriate.
4. Sonny Rollins in Philadelphia - unbelievable.
5. Fishbone in Philadelphia.
6. The Police reunion in 2007 in Seattle.
7. Madonna at MCI Center in DC. Great show, not as rocking as the above.
8. SRV at Red Rocks.
9. Various Grateful Dead shows. Not as great as the above. Just the overall experience of these shows was something else.
10. Various U2 shows. Always pretty good.

I am jealous about some of the shows I am seeing people post here.

I really wish I could have caught the Police when they went through on their reunion tour.
