i wouldn't say i was "part of the scene," but being stationed in the uk from '91-'94 allowed me to experience alot of this music.

Awesome, thanks for this. I was around too late to catch jungle in it's heyday, but have been doing my best to catch up ever since :)

hey

Funny this got posted.. I was in Brighton yesterday with the girlfriend and there was a drum and bass rave in a club under the boardwalk....brought back many memories of raving with goldie, bukem and others in london ..good times :)

also fyi.. jungalism was the only rave scene where you could do forms trainign in time to the music and people thought you were dancing.. :)))

wasn't in london but nottingham during this stage of my life but i did travel to anywhere around the uk.
It was a progression in my life
i was a BBoy
Moved on to the dance scene
then moved to jungle
and later big beat.
I'm amazed i made it out with a sane mind :)

I thought this topic was going to be about barbed arrows, penis gourds and head-hunting : (

Burial is another sick tune :)

How funny to listen to the documentary talking about jungle as the latest top thing. And to see a young Shy FX and his mate Gunsmoke (haha) dancing in his bedroom with a tape deck recording the lyrics to Gangsta, then going to play his first gig outside London. And they got the whole way through Original Nuttah without a single bloody rewind! I got crates and crates of old vinyl with a lot of these old tunes up in the roof with my 1210s just gathering dust...
