Making an RSS feed of RumSoakedFist

Does anybody know if there's a bit of software that will grab all new posts on this forum and send it back to you as an RSS feed?

Would be really convenient to be able to read new posts in NetNewsWire, for example, instead of having to visit the forum.

I'm kind of guessing that this isn't possible though.... but thought I'd ask..?

yes.

there are several mods for rss feeds from phpbb3.

the module would have to be installed and configured on the
server and then people with rss readers can access what they want to.

poor man's version - you could probably set up a google alert on some phrases like "rumsoakedfist.org" and have that delivered. you would only get bits that get indexed though, so you are at the mercy of the googlebot.

I was thinking the other way around... so that the admins wouldn't have to do anything. Is there anything that will take the 'new posts' page of this site and remotely turn it into an RSS feed? I think this may be a step too far though!

well, you could subscribe to the topics that you want to follow?
I don't know if there is any client side stuff that would do what you are asking for.

the URI of the feed has to be generated out of the site itself in order to be picked up in an rss reader.

I've tried to do it with tools like Yahoo! Pipes but alas failed. I didn't try really hard though. Anyone who's more of a real programmer or hacker could probably do it. Let us know if you succeed...

also along these lines, is there a way to create a mobile or iphone version of the site (without the admins having to do anything)?

There are some third party services that will turn web pages into RSS feeds, but they appear not to play well together with php. I expect that's also the problem with Yahoo Pipes.

To try your luck (I had none): http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=c ... d+any+site

Maybe this dodge will be useful for other sites you visit.

I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.
