Murder

Postby Sprint on Tue Apr 06, 2010 1:03 am

http://www.collateralmurder.com/ this will probably get pulled. Anyway what a horrible, horrible thing. Those kids flying that Apache are going to have nightmares for the rest of their lives and probably most of them will be burn-outs by middle age. Looking for weapons of mass destruction ? Yep we brought them over to help jog some memories..

The Apache pilots are either blind or stupid, they say they see AK's and an RPG? Where the hell were they looking?

Very sad!

To be honest, that thing did look (to me) like an RPG, when he was hiding behind/looking from behind that building...
The van though was a completely pointless "let's light 'em up!" videogame type of fucked-up "blank" violence. Shooting 'cause they could and, like, really totally wanted to.
There definitely should have been (and hopefully maybe still will be) punishment for shooting at the van, even if they didn't see the kids; there was absolutely no threat to them whatsoever, at that point.

Now... is anyone still at all surprised there are terrorists trying to blow things up on the US soil?! >:( :'( :-X

Fucking politicians. There must be a rule that requires all members of congress, senate, and the president and his top staff officials (or their direct relatives, if they are too old or too weak) to serve active duty (and not at a high-commander level -- no, right in the fucking trenches), at least for a short while at a time, periodically, on some kind of a rotation basis. I bet it would do a world of good for our foreign policy. Keep things real and honest. Fuckers. >:(

If this were to occur, then what is the reality of that?
In my opinion, that construct would only work in a spartan militaristic society.

this video shows only one incident of what are possibly, if not probably many whereby American soldiers are clearly not following the rules of engagement, or the rules of engagement are simply not being used at all.

Very sad indeed. the video game surreal feeling of it all is even worse in my opinion. We have somehow disconnected ourselves from the actual act of taking a life through this modern method of war.

We will regret, not just this, but the path forward in this regards.

The guy behind the corner, the "shooter with the RPG", was clearly a photographer...but i understand how that looked bad. What amazes me is, after the guy took "the shot at them"..just resumed normal behavior and kept walking in the middle of the street, and the trigger guy didnt think that was a bit odd for an insurgent who just attempted to shoot at them?

Roger Waters comes to mind:

Standing at the window
A farmer's wife in Oxford shire
Glances at the clock; it's nearly time for tea
She doesn't see
The phantom in the hedgerow dip its wings
Doesn't hear the engine sing

But in the cockpit's techno glow
Behind the Ray Ban© shine
The kid from Cleveland
In the comfort of routine
Scans his dials and smiles
Secure in the beauty of military life

There is no right, no wrong
Only tin cans and cordite and white cliffs
And blue skies and flight, flight, flight
The beauty of military life
No questions, only orders and flight, only flight

What a beautiful sight in his wild blue dream
The eternal child leafs through his
War magazine
And his kind Uncle Sam feeds ten trillion in
Change into the total entertainment
Combat video game

And up here in the stands
The fans are goin' wild
The cheerleaders flip
When you wiggle your hip
And we all like the bit when you take
The jeans from the refrigerator and
The the bad guy gets hit

And were you struck by the satisfying
Way the swimsuit sticks to her skin
Like BB gun days
When knives pierce autumn leaves
But that's okay see the children bleed

It'll look great on the TV

And in Tripoli another ordinary wife
Stares at the dripping tap her old man hadn't
Time to fix
Too busy mixing politics and rhythm
In the street below

The more one sweats during times of peace the less one bleeds during times of war.

Ideology offers human beings the illusion of dignity and morals while making it easier to part with them.

Interesting reads:

http://file.wikileaks.org/file/us-intel-wikileaks.pdf

U.S. Intelligence planned to destroy WikiLeaks

This document is a classifed (SECRET/NOFORN) 32 page U.S. counterintelligence investigation into WikiLeaks. “The possibility that current employees or moles within DoD or elsewhere in the U.S. government are providing sensitive or classified information to Wikileaks.org cannot be ruled out”. It concocts a plan to fatally marginalize the organization. Since WikiLeaks uses “trust as a center of gravity by protecting the anonymity and identity of the insiders, leakers or whisteblowers”, the report recommends “The identification, exposure, termination of employment, criminal prosecution, legal action against current or former insiders, leakers, or whistlblowers could potentially damage or destroy this center of gravity and deter others considering similar actions from using the Wikileaks.org Web site”. [As two years have passed since the date of the report, with no WikiLeaks’ source exposed, it appears that this plan was ineffective]. As an odd justificaton for the plan, the report claims that “Several foreign countries including China, Israel, North Kora, Russia, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe have denounced or blocked access to the Wikileaks.org website”. The report provides further justification by enumerating embarrassing stories broken by WikiLeaks—U.S. equipment expenditure in Iraq, probable U.S. violations of the Chemical Warfare Convention Treaty in Iraq, the battle over the
Iraqi town of Fallujah and human rights violations at Guantanmo Bay. Note that the report contains a number of inaccurances, for instance, the claim that WikiLeaks has no editorial control. The report concludes with 13 items of intelligence to be answered about WikiLeaks.

[conspiracy_theory_hat]You know what would be even more disturbing -- if WikiLeaks was in fact run by NSA and this video was "leaked" intentionally to throw the concerned public a bone (since such a well-known agency as Reuters requested it) and thereby have a controlled "leak source", while everyone thinks it's genuine.[/conspiracy_theory_hat]
Dunno how probable this is, but it sure as hell is possible , at least IMO.

The ones who should be prosecuted are the pilots and/or their commanders, IMO.

How's the mainstream media on this? Is it being justified? (we are in a war on terror after all, therefore, anything goes, right?) I'll guess that there would be a blurp on the news like CNN or Dateline and then you'll never hear about it again. Disgusting.
