Hi, my name's kshurika. I didn't start this thread. An administrator did, while waiting to speak to his probation officer.

The dvd is not about street fighting, or street grappling. So what shooter says make sense.

If only one of them had worn a balaclava and some camo pants. It could all have been so different..... ;)

someone should wear a ninja mask and attack in an alley or stairwell with a sword.

there is plenty to be learned and applied from sport and ima contexts. no one is denying that. geez. we like ima and sports here. :-\ ::) vid looks awesome. but as far as "street" goes, where is Chris McKinley when you need him to go on a rant about it? nvm, there is already the gun violence thread.

Yeah people get jumped, mugged, mobbed etc because they aren't disciplined

Like that guy I read about in the paper this morning who got jumped by some random dude while waiting for a cab. How undisciplined can you get?

Some junkie with voices in his head attacked my neighbor as he exited a local grocery store with his girlfriend because the voices said so. The voices said the target lacked discipline so he was not to be negotiated with. Shit like that happens all the time.

If people were more disciplined they wouldn't get in street fights.
Making sweeping generalizations is fun.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor, Shooter. These second-hand stories certainly are powerful. Now, have you ever been in a fight, or are you like 98.437% of the posters here on RSF?

btw, I believe that Tim's been in a fight or two.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Yes, more likely than not, trouble comes to you. I don't go to bars or clubs or dark allies, but that didn't stop some gang member attempting to fight with me. Thankfully, I was able to diffuse the situation--it's amazing what remaining calm can do to someone who is enraged. Psychos on the other hand are another story tho.

Yeah, if trouble ever comes to me I'll whip out my laptop and ask him to stop so I can watch the DVD, because, you inow it says "street" somewhere in the description. I just hope Mt Mugger is ok with this.

it's great (a good thing) to have discipline to avoid confrontation.

sometimes, stuff happens. even if one is trying to be smart.

i like tim's tape. it's good info.

i like the objectivity and clarity of tim's presentation.

If you have discipline from training it is easier to avoid, overcome, out smart, de-escalate confrontations/attacks. Just because you're disciplined doesn't mean you won't get attack by random nut jobs.

Making sweeping generalizations is fun.

So does skipping in the woods like little red riding hood. And twisting other peoples comments just because you're a jealous has-been in the woods grinding corn just makes your look more desperate for attention.

Hey, what's wrong with skipping in the woods like Little Red Riding Hood? I LIKE skipping in the woods like Little Red Riding Hood! It's what keeps me out of all those street fights...... that and my vaunted discipline.

to be honest, i think the skipping through the woods is short-changing shooter.

it's a good method of covering ground, in certain circumstances. skipping kicks in long fist, and tcc exist. look them up? :)

it's a way to rhythmically cover space...

i do like tim's video. and think it's of worth. of course. in fact i think it's very good.

but there's no reason to disparage others...

:)

I forgot to mention that while I'm out skipping in the woods I almost never disparage others.

I make it a daily discipline to skip in the woods because I never know if I'll be attacked by another nut job skipping in the woods. kshurika... :D
