My 8-year-old had a crossword puzzle for homework yesterday, and we (the parents) got stumped at one of the words: "_ _ _ _ i _ _", with this description/definition: "Equal treatment of all people under the law."

I even considered "egalite", but it didn't quite fit the "under the law" part, and also I don't think there's an 8-year-old out there, probably even including French kids , would know it anyway... So we left it unfilled and waited with anticipation...

He just got back from school, and it turned out to be...

We have hearings on capitol hill because 4 Americans got killed yet we didn't have one hearing for the hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis killed by Americans for an illegal war on false premises.

Where's their justice?

In California you can't throw a rock without hitting a lawyer, although we're not French I think most people out here would have nailed that.

That is a definition of justice that's partly what kicked off the whole Occupy movement, the fact that the oligarchy in this country never face justice for their white collar crimes. Jackie Chan was right.

I think we should refer to "him/her" as "it". Or come up with a brand new word that would be unique and used specifically and exclusively for referencing God. Like "shehit" or "heshit" or something.
