So what that the Duchess of Cambridge has boobs. I mean, half the people you meet have those. I do not see why it is worth a news story, much less a pictorial.

all these myths
gods heroes dragons
golden ages
are lenses
to create power and
give shape to reality
compasses
to point the way onward
you believe in them
not because theyre true
theyre tools
and thats the way
the tools are used

Why does the same mosquito want to bite the same person over and over. Isn't once or twice enough? Can they possibly draw more blood in a night?

^^ Would you prefer ticks? They have a better "technique", that way...

It bugged me for a long while, as I can't sleep with even one mosquito in the room (unless I'm dead-tired) -- their sound wakes me up and that really pisses me off.
I've experimented several times, tried to just hold out my arm, the 'yin' side up to make it easier for it, and watched it sit, drink a little, take off, fly around, sit again, drink a little more, etc. Yet sometimes it would just sit and drink once -- and then nearly fall off...
It might be the latching issue, i.e. they just get disconnected from the source. But what's more likely I think, is that this is a better (safer for the little guy) approach -- being "light on their feet", taking small bites whenever they can get it and quickly fly off, back to the safety of their seemingly-onmidirectional flight, and then try another latch... With one long latch, chances of getting slapped dead would be much higher, so basically what I'm saying is that it's their victims fault, i.e. we should blame all our ancestors (and ourselves) for training them this way. :)

I wish I could reason with them -- that way they'd eat and live, and I'd sleep. If only I could talk to it, "look, its OK, I'm not gonna hurt you, here's a nice spot -- eat all you want, and then LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE for the rest of the night"... But no! :(

I hadn't thought of that. Makes sense. I would gladly let them have a safe 30 second drink if they promised to let me sleep all night and stay away from my ears.

I was told by a member of a First Nation the other day that dream catchers were actually supposed to keep flying bugs away from babies.

The good news is that once they've gotten totally gorged on my blood after several days of feasting, they fly so slow it's easy to smash them.

This may be old news, I can't remember, but the banner looks like Ralph Macchio (original Karate Kid actor) to me.
