Images from Dr. Stephen Yan

Dr. Yan asked me to upload some images to the board here, so here is a thread for them:

Yang Cheng-WHO?. It doesn't look like anything like Yang Cheng-Fu:

Image

It's clearly a different person.... Fake-Cheng-Fu! Also Yang Cheng-Fu was a giant of a man. In that supposed photo he's smaller than Wu!

Just look at this picture - you can see both Cheng-Fu and Wu Chien Chuan in this picture - Wu is clearly smaller than Cheng-Fu:

I see there has been more detailed, authoritative and extensive research going on in New Zealand... ::)

Word 8-)

I have an earlier picture where he even looks more like a tank. At least twice as massive as anyone else on that photo :D

The picture also introduces Yang Cheng-fu as the "Yang style founder" when it is common knowledge that he was the grandson of the Yang style founder. He was 3rd generation. :-\ The founder was granpa Yang Lu-chan.

Omar,

Just a quick comment about the founder thing: Chengfu had made some rearrangements to what he had learned for popularisation. In that way, he had a somewhat personal style, IMO, and so one could consider him a founder... At least, that is what I know of it, but I'd be happy to stand corrected. I think there is even a book around on Yang Chengfu shi taijiquan, but I am not sure.

Kind regards,

Tomita

And I also tend to think that it is indeed Chengfu in that first picture. Just add ten years, the moustache, and a lot of body mass. I mean, a lot. That is mainly why Chengfu seems so big. His facial fatures, cheek bones, nose and eye sockets are alike, IMO.

Tomita

Oh, and I would like to see your picture of Wu, Graham... If possible.

TIA

Really? Nah - Come on! People don't suddenly grow taller and grow a different face ;D

My pic of Wu was just a joke pic of a strong baby. But jokes are not allowed in the main forum - you know, it upsets Dmitri.

On a serious note, theres really no need to make a fuss out of this. Just wait until the owner of the picture, Dr. Yan, comments about it. Ed was nice enough to help him with his picture posting skills.
