Can Minnie Pearl Beat A Gracie with Crossed Arms?

To bring this amazing thread to the obvious logical conclusion, I suggest that all bodyguards should dress and act like Minnie Pearl, instead of crossing their arms, in order to better blend in and avoid restricting their breath. Alternatively, Shimon Peres could hire the Gracie family members for bodyguards, since their arm-crossing technique appears to be in accord with the pre-natal prana of Gaia.

*edit* P.S. correction -- the Gracies, if hired, would actually not be standing up, but be on their backs on the ground, 'cause that's what their art is all about. Which would make it a bit harder to blend in and to properly observe the surroundings... Hmmm.... Back to the drawing board!

I pointed out that with his considerable fighting skills he couldn't last against a good BJJ (formulated by the Gracie family) black belt - because, as you well know, he couldn't. Nor could Chen Xiaowang, Yang Cheng Fu, Sun Lu Tang, Bruce Lee or any other of the numerous names that I could throw out. A lot of the magical thinkers on RSF wish it were not so, but it's so. And, as I always point out, I don't study BJJ................................. yet.

A BJJ black belt is good in ground game and not as good in stand up game. To say that a black belt BJJ guy can beat the best striker in the world, or the best stand up grapplier in the world will not be realistic IMO.

Some people just need to "believe". You have your religion crazies, you have your political crazies, you have your racism crazies, and you have your TCMA crazies. They share one fundamental thing between themselves - they are incapable of using facts and logic to re-evaluate their beliefs. My question is - what purpose does blind blind faith hold in terms of the survivability of our species? Why haven't homo sapiens evolved out of that state of mind? It's weird.

Anyway, getting back to the challenge match. Yeah as Graham and Omar said things seem to get greatly exaggerated. Remember this "challenge match?" People talk about it as if it were life and death.

Really? If you have to explain to someone who doesn't do martial arts why "so and so" won then I don't think anyone really won. (Btw, I don't even do the Chen.)
