3 out of 4 Republicans believe that the FBI is targeting the pres
They'll say that whether they believe it or not. However, they're defending themselves because they won't admit the hypocrisy of saying they support "law enforcement." Maybe the FBI is targeting the president, but not because he's president. They, as did he, had to swear (to them preferably on a Bible) to uphold the Constitution of the United States. That document represents "the People", not the party in power or the president. In fact, the entire system of checks and balances were created to prevent any segment of government from abusing its power.
All that good stuff has been thrown out by the people who demand that people stand for the national anthem. Meanwhile, today, if someone doesn't stand and applaud when the president speaks/smiles, he or she's called a traitor --even if she's a vet who's legs were blown off in Iraq.
The thing about the investigation is that, by focusing on defending Trump, nobody's saying that the real goal is to find out how much the Russians tried to influence the Trump campaign or the Clinton campaign or the election in general. Suppose you were accused of conspiring with someone to commit a crime that had been committed. Guilty or innocent, you'd say you didn't do it. But, if innocent, you would want the guilty party to caught.
And, the f-ing most interesting thing about the Russia (not Trump) investigation is that Trump is the first president to invite the heads of Russian intelligence agencies to the White House. Anyhow, ok, no need to hate Russia. But, um, what exactly is in this for the U.S.? I am jaded enough to think that the delay is just to get connections cleaned up so that profits can be secured. Otoh, it's more likely just political payback. A heartfelt thank you.
