Was it a bad dream?

The following typical threads that plague martial arts sites will get moved here if not just deleted: 1 - My style is better than Your style" - 2 - "Internal & External" - 3 - Personal attacks - 4 - Threads that start well, but degenerate into a spiral of nonsense.

Was it a bad dream?

Postby kshurika on Sun Nov 02, 2008 10:20 am

This probably isn't the first time you've heard this. I happened to find this site through Dave Devere's site. It looks like the old Emptyflower that I used to love, but somehow went away. It was replaced by an Emptyflower that looked pretty similar, but that I didn't love. In fact, I was set down for three days on that one for being a big meanie to some hyper-posting troglodyte who kept telling pseudo-macho stories about guys with guns. The administrators thought me rude and insensitive.

Now, that other emptyflower won't open and this one has magically returned, with the old names (and avatars) that I recognize. People even use bad language that is frowned upon on that "other" site (like "butt"). Has it all been a bad dream? Is it like Bobby's death on "Dallas" only being a season-long nightmare? "The Martian Chronicles" in which the astronauts each find themselves back in their hometown? Am I being lured into a clever trap by the "others"?

If you're those other guys................... just kidding. Whoever you are, I'm glad you're back.

Sincerely,

Rip Van Winkle

Hmm...hyper-posting troglodyte....I like the sound of that. :D

I don't think it was me you had a problem with, since you're name doesn't sound familiar. Nonetheless, I now have a new Jungian archetype to which to aspire. Thank you.

Welcome back. It wasn't a bad dream, but it was a nightmare.

Is .net just temporarily down or are they actually shutting it down?

Palmer: Let's hope for the latter.

Chris McKinley: No, it wasn't you. And I didn't mean to offend troglodytes. (There I go, trying to fit into the mold of the "others"!)

There can be only one. ;)
I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.

Mr.Shurika, welcome home.
This is where all the awesome people from EF came to after the other board got sullied and shitty.
Stick around, take your shoes off, relax.

That "hyper-posting troglodyte" was none other than John Wang. Who you were warned for blatantly antagonizing.

You know, the same John Wang that the people of this forum want back after driving off with a similar level of civility that you demonstrate so well..

Hmmmmm, you seem pissed, too. The other ef seems like your kind of place.

I'm from L.A. I've had guns pulled on me four times. On one of those times, I was told I was going to die as I listened to the hammer cock. I didn't antagonize John Wang. I merely said that his second-hand stories were bullshit (which they were). We who have been on the wrong ends of guns in non-military situations get a little brittle with stories that we know are bullshit.

I'd post my story (which isn't second-hand), but what does that have to do with internal martial arts? If it'll make you feel better, though, I can tell you that I wasn't nearly as cocky (or as stupid) as John's protagonists.

Well, I for one am glad to be back here and I thank those who welcomed me. I like Xing Yi, not faux-Eastwood gun stories. But, I hope John comes back as well, with more of his action-packed yarns. Why doesn't he? It took me about 20 seconds to re-register.

Am I going to be suspended for three days again?

Was just thinking about you yesterday Mr. K when a friend of mine mentioned yoga. I told her it was pretty damn difficult to find a good yoga teacher and then I wondered why you hadn't been posting on ef.com. Good to see you took the red pill and found your way back. :)

And I hope we don't start cross-pollinating the trolls in this thread, otherwise all that upheaval would have been for naught.

Brian and Justin are delusional.

I'd ignore them. It's really all they deserve.

They are also teenage girls.
Thats why Justin likes people to refer to him as Sarah and has an anime character as her avatar. ;)
