you aware , of course ,
that:
pedophiles, rapists, religious extremists etc., forms not >a<, but >the< "group"... -joint-
.
They are the humans /by the way/ too,
however
WE, /as the human race/ learned - how to deal with our own part/s/ lookin` as unremovable shit:
take Da huang and press the flush button :-*

Yes, but they're humans who commit intolerable crimes. That's why they should be punished. Moreover, even though they illustrate human behavior, they are in the minority when it comes to humans, and the "race" cannot be judged by them. ;)

sure,
so
our only problem is:
what kind of filter should be used ... :D

education and free love may form some basic root, however earth became so crowdy and polluted, that we are short in time left.
Simply no hundreds years of easy, free lunch. Those times are gone.
As I try to communicated earlier, we are in the war zone, where "zone" means all planet.
It is no god. During such times governments tends to became less democratic , military, special forces etc. getting every day - bigger and bigger permissions.
All what "we" can do about? not to much, just learn how to live/thrive is more suitable word here/ in such shitty, as our earth becoming place .
and
slowly, but every day works as our best.

There weren't any "humans" a million years ago ;). But, whatever was there had to work hard for lunch, and didn't live very long. Seems to me that the whole point of "society" and "civilization" has been to make life easier (for humans).

yeah,
work was hard, life on the edge all the time /we have it too :D /
but
it was the price of freedom.
Now we have tedious work , unstable position , and on top of it we can die in any sec.
almost the same, -woot-
small difference: no freedom :'(
well,
price of civilizations are borders of our freedom,
shitty problem is, that more advanced civilization producing more, and more borders, which are eating out our personal freedom.
so
we have right
for fight
to party -joint-
however, still free to discuss via web, who knows how long...

I think everyone has always been "free" (in quotes because of determinism) to do whatever, and so they have been doing. The freedom of what one actually does ("chooses" to do) is limited only by the (fear of) potential consequences.

Life hasn't changed that much, in its core; the biggest difference now vs then is how accessible clean water, food and shelter is to everyone, and the laws and their enforcement evolved quite a bit -- from the big guy in the cave telling you that you can't steal other people's furs for fear of getting your hands broken, to TSA agents telling you that you can't bring a large tube of toothpaste on your flight (for your own safety of course) for fear of you missing that flight.

But "freedom" has always been there. It's just a matter of coming (or not) to terms with the consequences of your choices.

mmmm, wrong words I use?
I mean, you are always be free inside your mind, Dimitri, even in Gulag on east Siberia , for example,
But,
I`m not even a battery in the matrix...;)
Society produce lot of knots to cut, more advanced = less and less "free" space to move out of the zombies civilization way.

OK I think I understand what you're saying... Guess I was being too generic in my reply.

To answer it more directly, I think this:
Now we have tedious work , unstable position , and on top of it we can die in any sec

applies to any point in human history, without your "no freedom" caveat.

Maybe you can give a specific example of what you mean by "price of civilizations are borders of our freedom"? Just name one thing that you can physically do, but the civilization has removed your freedom to do it (whereas if you were a caveman, you would be able to do it); maybe that'll help clear this up...
